There are a few ways to fix a black screen when screen sharing. First, if the screen share won't start, head to this article about changing screen share permissions.
Use Here in a Web Browser
If you're using our desktop app and the screen share keeps going black, try using Here in a web browser (we strongly recommend Google Chrome).
Disable Adblockers & VPNs
If you have any browser extensions enabled in your browser like an adblocker or a VPN, try disabling them and then screen sharing. These extensions often interfere with our ability to connect to other tabs.
Disable Hardware Acceleration
The last thing you should try doing is disabling hardware acceleration in your browser settings. For Google Chrome users, follow these steps:
- Open Google Chrome
- Go to Settings > System (or follow this link chrome://settings/system)
- Toggle "Use hardware acceleration when available" off
