Android

When you first download the Here app for Android, you'll need to grant us permission to access your Camera & Mic. Camera & Mic should always work as long as permissions have been granted. Please follow the steps below if you camera and/or mic is not working on Here:

1. Camera

• Camera isn't working:
  • If your camera isn't working, make sure you granted Here permission to access your camera. 
  • To check if Here has access to your camera, follow these steps:
    • Open Settings on your Android
    • Scroll down and select Privacy
    • Click on Permissions Manager and check the Camera tab 
    • Select Google Chrome and make sure "Deny" is not selected
    • If "Deny" is selected, switch to "Allow only while using the app"
  • If your camera still isn't working after granting us access, make sure you have the correct device selected from the device list in the Here room. To learn more about selecting devices, check out the Room Controls article.
•  If your camera is still not working in Here after following these steps, send us a report (Learn how to send us a Report)

2. Microphone

• Mic isn't working:
  • If your microphone isn't working, make sure you granted Here permission to access your mic. 
  • To check if Here has access to your mic, follow these steps:
    • Open Settings on your Android
    • Scroll down and select Privacy
    • Click on Permissions Manager and check the Microphone tab 
      
      • Select Google Chrome and make sure "Deny" is not selected
      • If "Deny" is selected, switch to "Allow only while using the app"
    • If your mic still isn't working after granting us access, make sure you have the correct device selected from the device list in the Here room. To learn more about selecting devices, check out the Room Controls article.
