Mute a chat
Open the chat's settings with the gear, then choose the bell to mute it. This works for direct messages and group chats.
A muted chat plays no sounds, shows no pop-ups, and does not add to the unread count in the browser tab. Its chat icon still shows unread messages. Use the bell again to unmute it.
Room notifications
Open Room Settings → Notifications for your available room notification choices.
The owner or admins can enable Quiet Mode for the room. This stops notifications to members about people joining, messages, and new content.
Muting notifications does not mute the people speaking in a call. Use your audio controls for that.
